The Ferritin (Fer) Rapid Test Kit is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of human ferritin in human whole blood, serum or plasma samples at a cut-off concentration of 30 ng/ml. Ferritiin is a major iron storage protein and has a molecular weight of approximately 450,000 Daltons. Ferritin is essential element for oxygen transportation, cells multiplication and tissues and organs structure building. The level of ferritin is an excellent indicator of the amount of iron available to the body.

If the ferritin level is low in the blood, there is a risk for lack of iron, which could lead to anemia.
