The Linear Helicobacter pylori Ag cassette is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of H. Pylori antigen in human fecal specimen. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of infection with H. Pylori, to monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic treatment and to confirm the eradication of H. pylori in peptic ulcer patients.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a spiral-shaped gram negative bacteria, the most common infectious microorganism found in humans, and infects approximately 50% of the world's populations. H. pylori lives in the surface of the stomach and duodenum. H. pylori infection has been recognized as an important factor in the cause of dyspepsia disease, peptic ulcer (gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer), stomach cancer, and MALT (mucous-associated lymphoid tissue) lymphoma. The prevalence of H.pylori infection could exceed 90% in patients with signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases. H.Pylori colonizing in the gastrointestinal system elicits specific antibody responses which aids in the diagnosis of H.Pylori infection and in monitoring the prognosis of the treatment of H.Pylori related diseases. Both invasive and non-invasive methods are used to diagnose H. pylori infection in patients with symptoms of gastrointestinal disease. This antigen detection test is a noninvasive diagnostic method and can be performed within 10 minutes by minimally skilled personnel without using laboratory equipment.
